Arts Umbrella's program is designed from a fine arts perspective. All classes are taught by accomplished artists and experienced teachers and provide an encouraging and supportive environment for youth and teens to develop their visual and creative skills. Students are encouraged to “repeat” classes they enjoy to progress further within that discipline..

*Please inform the instructors of any need for accommodations for students with disabilities. The instructor may inform parents of behaviors that are affecting others, the instructor will notify the parent, and may ask that the student not join in for the rest of the week. Classes not taken due to this, will be refunded with a 25% fee loss (due to teachers planning for projects and time). Our goal is to provide a safe and relaxing experience for each young artist to express, and create in a positive environment. Join us for a summer inspired art adventure! Young artists will dive into drawing, painting, and sculpting and more to create projects guided by the colors and excitement of the summer season. From bold beach scapes to playful 3D creations, students will experiment with a variety of materials as they bring their imaginations to life.

Drawing Skills
We will focus on ANIMALS in this camp. learning to draw them from combining basic shapes to shading, textures, and color. This will be a mixed media camp, with strong emphasis on drawing skills, incorporating paint and sculpy clay projects

In Depth Acrylic Painting
This in depth 3 hour class, students will be exploring the world of acrylic painting. How to mix color, understanding the color wheel and work with the value scale. Students will use drawing and compositional skills while gaining a better understanding of Acrylic paint to create pieces to be proud of.

Make it POP! 3D Art & Objects
Change your flat designs into 3D, we will explore creative artwork through a variety of mediums like modeling clay, paper mache, weaving, or metal working. Three Dimensional art allows the viewer to look at it from all sides. Artists will interpret their ideas and drawings into creating exciting art pieces that will POP!

This summer we are celebrating the animals who make our world brighter. Maybe you have a beloved family pet. Or perhaps you would love a bright pink dinosaur to be your companion. Create a Board Game
We all have had fun interacting with friends and family playing board games. This class is a great way to stimulate your imagination as we explore ideas to make a game that is uniquely yours. Tapping into a variety of multimedia and skills such as drawing, painting, and sculpting to bring your game idea to fruition. We'll consider well-loved games to understand what makes them exciting, then apply those ideas and an artist's imagination to create your own. (Note: The two sessions being offered for the week of Aug 3rd- 7th are open to kids taking either morning or afternoon, or doing both. The Art of COLLAGE
Exploring the exciting art of collage. You will create your own painted papers to use with fun painting techniques. Paying attention to color and composition, while incorporating your own papers and personal inspiration. Each student will create an exciting piece of artwork in the time honored process of collage!

ART Journaling
Your sketch book holds the door to your ideas, creativity and exploration. We will learn quick sketching techniques, playing with abstract designs, collage methods, and using the sketchbook as place for thoughts and ideas. Using many art materials such as pen and ink, various drawing materials and watercolor. The art sketch book will become a treasure of art ideas.
